The Sussex Community Center offers many programs for seniors, such as meal-site program, a semi-fixed shuttle service, fitness programs, art classes and studios, basket weaving, card, game, knitting and crocheting groups, educational presentations, day trips, special events, and parties and much more.
There are no annual membership fees to participate in senior programming. The activities are open to all individuals in the community 55 years (60 years old for the meal-site program) and older.

The Center of Attention is published four times a year. The newsletter provides our senior community with multitudes of information about activities, events, trips, classes, seminars, support groups and resources. You can find copies of this publication at the Pauline Haass Public Library, Sussex Village Hall, Sussex Community Center, Alterra Sterling House, Sussex Mills, Bristol Court Apartments and here on the village’s website. |

Senior Shuttle
The senior shuttle provides an affordable transportation option that enables our senior adults to maintain a healthy, active and independent lifestyle. A detailed schedule is available through the link below or you can find copies of the schedule at the Pauline Haass Public Library, Sussex Village Hall and the Sussex Community Center.
The routes are semi-fixed, meaning, that pick-up and drop-off locations are routine. Round-trip tickets cost $3.00 each or 10 tickets for $25. Shuttle tickets can be purchased at the Sussex Village Hall or the Sussex Community Center. |

Waukesha County Senior Dining Meal-site
Fellowship, Food and Fun
Senior dining includes both senior dining centers and home-delivered; being low-cost and nutritious meals to persons 60 years of age and older, with emphasis on outreaching frail, isolated, homebound and disadvantaged older adults. In addition to a hot noon meal, the senior dining centers provide nutrition education, health information & screenings, outreach and support to older adults and their families. Monthly menus are available at the Community Center, on this website and on the County’s website at www.waukeshacounty.gov.
Reservations are required at least 24-hours in advance. Call 262.548.7848 anytime to make a reservation.

LOW IMPACT EXERCISE
Every Monday & Wednesday
9 am - 9:45 am
Individuals 55 or better can participate in the low impact aerobic fitness program. The workout adapts gracefully to the changes of the senior participant. Call the Community Center to register at 262-246-6447.

Seniors are welcome to walk at the high school. Participants should enter through the front doors (all other doors will be locked). Upon entering, participants should check-in with Julie Orvold, who will get you started walking. Coats can be hung in Office B. Please see walking schedule.

WOODFIELD MALL - IKEA SHOPPING
Saturday, February 25
8:00am - 8:00pm
Join us as we head south to the Chicago area and take on the fabulous Woodfield Mall with over 100 stores. Restaurants are aplenty at the mall and you will have the day to pace on your own. The IKEA store is nearby and a shuttle bus is available on the 1/2 hour to take you from Woodfield to IKEA. Refreshments of coffee and bakery will be provided prior to morning departure.

9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL - AT THE FIRESIDE DINNER THEATER

This musical is a madcap tale about three talented and resourceful women who declare war on their tyrannical boss. What ensues is a fast moving, hilarious romp filled with great songs, lively dances and nonstop fun.

TEN CHIMNEYS

Ten Chimneys, is unique among historic sites, as it offers guests a virtually barrier-free tour of an estate replete with original furnishings and overflowing with the romance of the Golden Age of Theatre. Docents share stories that interpret not only the objects and decor of the estate, but also the lives and values of its remarkable creators.

AN AFTERNOON OUT

Join us for an afternoon out. The day will begin with lunch at Boneyard Pub & Grille in Sussex followed by the play "Almost, Maine" by the Falls Patio Players. Transportation will be handicap accessible.
