The Village Clerk/Treasurer's Office is responsible for processing of administrative and statutory procedures of the Village.  The staff includes the Village Clerk/Treasurer, administrative assistants, and receptionists.  Temporary  employees are hired as election workers to assist with the elections. The Department responsibilities include: Customer Service and primary contact for customers of the Village. Election Information All elections are held at the Sussex National Guard Armory, W239N5678 Maple Avenue unless otherwise noted. Polls are open from 7am - 8pm. Spring Election / Presidential Preference is April 3, 2012. State Announces New Online Assistance for Voters Elections Division Unveils 'Voter Public Access' Wisconsin Voters can look up their polling place and other election related information on the Internet using a new function of the state's voter registration system. It's now available under "Voter Information" on the Elections Division page at http://gab.wi.gov, the Government Accountability Board's web site. Voter Public Access gives the public a new means of getting information about voter registration, voting history, normal polling place locations, current office holders, and sample ballots for upcoming elections. "This is a convenient tool for voters who want to double-check information about themselves, where they vote, or who they can vote for, before Election Day,"  "We hope it makes voting easier." The information provided on Voter Public Access pages comes directly from the Statewide Voter Registration System and is maintained by local clerks.  Voters who find any out-of-date information should report it to their local municipal clerk. Instructions for using Voter Public Access are provided on the site.  Voters who do not find registration information about themselves in Voter Public Access should contact their municipal clerk to make sure they are properly registered to vote.  Check out the site! http://vpa.wi.gov
Official Notices The Village's official newspaper is the Sussex Sun.  All legal publications, including minutes of the Village Board, adopted ordinances and public hearing notices, are put in the Sussex Sun.
Tax Information Tax bills are mailed directly to the residents from Waukesha County.  The County is required to mail all tax bills by the third Monday of December.  If your mortgage company requires a copy of your tax bill, it is your responsibility to get them a copy.  Tax bills are available online at www.waukeshacounty.gov  If the name(s) or address on your tax bill are incorrect, you will need to contact the Register of Deeds to change the information.  These changes are only done on legally acceptable forms and filed with the Register of Deeds office.
