The Village of Sussex completed its Comprehensive Plan in 2003. There were numerous public meetings and citizen input gathering sessions to complete the plan. There have been a few amendments to the Plan since the initial approval, but largely the plan has remained the same. The Comprehensive Plan guides the Village's development of the Community.
The Plan has 9 sections that relate to planning for different aspects of the community from Economic Development to Transportation. The Comprehensive Plan is also the guide to other Village plans that affect how the community grows. The Plan allows the Village to meet the State Mandate that required all communities to adopt a Comprehensive Plan.
