Spring Green Roadway and Utility Reconstruction Project

Work to be completed in 2010 includes water, sewer, storm sewer, and roadway reconstruction for Clover Drive from STH 74 to the Sussex Wastewater Treatment Plant; as well as water, sewer, storm sewer and roadway reconstruction for Spring Green Subdivision south of Clover Drive - (Lilac Drive, Lilac Court, Aster Drive and Aster Court).  Construction work for Spring Green Subdivision north of Clover Drive is scheduled to be started in 2011.

Project components include:

  • Reconstruction of all streets in the subdivision with new asphalt pavement and concrete curb and gutter.
  • Reconstruction of Clover Drive from the wastewater treatment plant to Waukesha Avenue with new concrete pavement and curb and gutter.
  • Removal and replacement of the entire water main system.
  • Removal and rehabilitation of the entire sanitary sewer system.
  • Removal and replacement of the entire storm sewer system.
  • Abandonment of two sanitary lift stations.

Clover Drive will be closed from STH 74 to just west of the Sussex Wastewater Treatment Plant. Clover Drive will be open from Waukesha Avenue for local traffic, emergency vehicles, school buses, postal service and garbage pickup. No thru traffic or parking on the streets will be permitted in this project area.

Week of July 26, 2010:

Work on the sanitary sewer along Clover Drive continues although the recent rains and ground water conditions are hampering progress. The crew is at the intersection of Tulip and Clover. They are progressing slowly to the east. Large dewatering silt bags and a temporary settling tank are installed on Tulip and in the park area. These facilities are controlling the sediment from going into the creek. Some additional blasting of bed rock will still be needed to install the sanitary sewer along Clover Drive. The second construction crew is installing water main on Lilac Drive and Lilac Ct. This crew is making good progress. Additional temporary mail boxes have been set up at the intersection of Lilac and Clover.

Please obey the Road Closed signs as the Village Police Department continues to patrol the area and issue citations.
